Boomer thinks Aaron Judge will 'approach 70 home runs' but Gio, not so much

Aaron Judge hit 62 home runs in 2022, setting a new American League record, and through 86 team games this year he has 31 – just under pace (58.3 is the extrapolation) but, given that he has protection in the lineup this year that he didn't really have in '22, still possible.

Will he do it?

"In June, he batted .409 with 11 homers and 37 RBI," Jerry said during one of his updates Monday, before playing a clip where Judge says 'I just keep focusing on the next day and what we gotta do to win a ball game.'

"I feel like he is saying the same thing every day after every game; if you go back two weeks ago, he said the same thing that he said yesterday, which is fine," Boomer said. "So how many home runs do you think he ends up with – is it north of 70?"

"No," Jerry said, predicting 58 but saying 70 "would be amazing though."

"I'm gonna say he gets to 60," Gio posited as Boomer pointed out Sunday's homer where the pitcher did a little…uh, ball-handling of his own.
"I'm gonna say he gets to 60, but what do you think? You asked the question."

Boomer does think he 'will approach 70,' and Fleegs chimed in urging the guys to bet on Judge hitting at least 63 and beating his own record.

"I say yes," Boomer said, but Gio maintains 'no, he's gonna end up on 60 or 61."
