Jack Aker spent 11 years in the majors from 1964-74 – including four seasons with the Yankees and one with the Mets – and he had some unique moments.
From pitching in the same game as 59-year-old Satchel Paige in 1965, to standing on the mound at Yankee Stadium while men landed on the moon in 1969, to standing in the Braves bullpen a few feet away from where Hank Aaron's 715th home run ball landed in 1974 – Aker saw, and was part of, a lot of history.
Sweeny Murti chats with the now 80-year old Aker – one of the first relief aces and player's union reps – about all of those moments and more in the latest 30 With Murti podcast!
