Among all the, uh, spectacle that was Thursday night’s Presidential debate (which Boomer was Tweeting a lot about), President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump got into it about…their golf handicaps?
Okay, so Presidents traditionally play a lot, and we know that Boomer does too and Gio is getting into the sport, so the guys had a hypothetical on Friday morning from caller Richie in East Islip, who the guys saw on the course once: could Gio beat the President over 18?
“I was watching Gio swing on the range that day, so I’m wondering, can he beat Joe Biden if you gave him 14 shots?”
“You know what? At his stage right now, I think without question,” Gio laughed back.
And you know what? Seems like at least one of the Commanders in Chief is just like us…
“There’s some videos floating around this morning of him swinging a golf club, and no disrespect, but you would wipe the floor with him,” C-Lo said. “The idea either of them are single-digit handicaps, I mean, you gotta be kidding me.”
When it was noted there are videos of President Trump taking liberal gimmes, C-Lo responded in kind.
“That’s how you end up in a single digit handicap,” C-Lo laughed.
“The best part of it is when the secret service is out in the fairway and they move the ball into out of the rough, into the fairway itself,” Boomer said. “I’ve never heard that about Obama, but I’ve heard that about a lot of other Presidents. You go to the caddies, they’ll tell you.”
Presidents of the United States: just like us weekend warriors in our Flag & Anthem polos and backwards hats with a driver that’s definitely broken and all at fault.
In all seriousness, Boomer did explain his reason for Tweeting so much Thursday night is that he’s ‘worried about my grandkids and the future,’ but yeah…golf, man.
“The laughing I've been doing this morning on the back of the golf handicap conversation? If you’re not laughing at that, you've got no sense of humor whatsoever,” Gio said. “It was so funny. ‘I’ve seen your swing, there’s no way you’re a six!’”
“In the world of serious politics and issues that are going on, they spent like 90 seconds yapping about golf,” Boomer replied, “but it takes center stage, because you couldn't believe that two Presidential candidates were doing that.”
