Is Halloween still going to happen? Trick or treating maybe not, but that doesn’t mean you can’t decorate your homestead in honor of All Hallows’ Eve.
Unless, that is, you’re the Reccos of the Jersey Shore, as Jerry revealed on Monday’s episode of Al & Jerry’s Postgame Podcast.
“Not really – my wife does a lot of fall harvest-y things around the house, but we’re not really into that,” Jerry revealed. “I have one friend who turns his garage into a haunted garage, though, and he spends weeks on it, and then his front lawn becomes a cemetary. It’s really well done, but he goes nuts for this one day.”
“I don’t like that, that’s scary,” Al deadpanned.
“We do not do that; we get the harvest-y candles out, we got the bale of hay to put a couple of pumpkins on, and that’s about it,” Jerry replied.
And that’s when Al asked if anyone in Jerry’s neighborhood has the decoration of all decorations for Halloween: a 12-foot-tall skeleton that retailed for $300 and sold out instantly.
“If this is such a hot item, though, would you be afraid to put it out?” Al asked, and when Jerry mentioned everyone having cameras, Mr. Dukes revealed his seedy underbelly.
“If you went old-school thief, where you wore all black and pantyhose on your head, and a mask for corona, who is catching you?” Al asked.
“Let’s be honest, criminals are not exactly the smartest group of people, but if you want to steal a $300 skeleton off my lawn, go for it,” Jerry replied. “I’m not dumb enough to spend $300 on a skeleton, but if you want it, go for it, you need it more than I do.”
This was nestled in between conversations about new Bon Jovi music and Dolly Parton’s future, and, well, if you’re not listening to The Warm-Up Show (Monday-Friday 5-6 a.m. on WFAN) or Al & Jerry’s Postgame Podcast, you’re missing hard-hitting debates like this one.
The tagline for the Warm-Up Show is “no guests, no calls, no real content,” but let’s be fair – that’s only like three-quarters right, because ANYTHING is technically content!
