BT & Sal: Better to have constant playoff heartbreak or miss postseason entirely?

After watching a dejected Bills fanbase watch the Chiefs celebrate another playoff win over their team on Sunday night, Sal wondered if sports fans would rather their team suffer heartbreak in the postseason over and over again, or consistently miss the playoffs to avoid that level of disappointment.

BT, having not seen his team in the playoffs for over a decade, would swap places with those Bills fans if he could.

“It’s a tough one, but it’s not,” BT said. “I would rather just keep getting to the precipice of a championship and having my heart snapped.

“At least I know I’ve got four or five months of meaningful football, rather than scouring mock drafts.”

Bills fans have had it rough, dating back to losing four Super Bowls in four tries in the early 90s, and those playoff demons have resurfaced again in recent years. Their postseason pain has been so potent that, even though BT would still take their experience over that of a Jets fan, he did have to think about it.

“Some of those shots of Bills fans, I don’t think it’s an easy answer. In the moment, they were rightfully distraught,” BT said. “You’re looking at them and saying ‘well, my night is largely unaffected.’”
