Things didn’t start well for the Chiefs in Sunday’s Super Bowl, as the offense was doomed by fumbles and inadequacy as the Niners built an early lead.
Frustration seemed to boil over with Travis Kelce bumping head coach Andy Reid, knocking him off balanced as he yelled in the face of his head coach.
It was a moment captured on live television in front of millions of people, and Boomer and Gio agreed that it was not a good look for the future Hall of Fame tight end.
“That’s the most aggressive I’ve ever seen a player bump into a coach and get in their face,” Gio said. “That’s the most aggressive player-to-coach interaction I’ve ever seen in the NFL.”
Jerry noted that A.J. Brown posted on social media that he would be out of the league if he had done that to his head coach, and Jerry didn’t disagree. Boomer agreed with Gio that it was a bad look for Kelce.
“That just didn’t look good on the sideline,” Boomer said. “I know he was frustrated. Everyone gets frustrated…it just had a bad look. Andy is 65 years old, not in great shape. Could you imagine if he had fallen down?”
