Boomer & Gio: Which New York sports franchise is most stable?

With the NFL Draft on the horizon, Boomer wondered which New York sports team has the most stability.

The whole crew agreed that it's neither NFL team ahead of the draft, and Boomer said the pick has to be the Yankees, who have maintained the same general manager for over 25 years, and has had just three managers since 1996.

"You'd have to go with the Yankees, right?" Boomer said. "Joe Girardi was here for 10 years, and now you have Aaron Boone, who isn't going anywhere. They have been the most stable and the most successful of all the franchises, without question. Even though I know they haven't won a World Series since 2009."

Gio didn't agree with the Yankees, arguing that continuity doesn't matter as much where the team continues to fall short of their lofty goals.

"That's more stale to me than stable," Gio said. "Stable and stale are two different things. I need to see what the Yankees do this year."

So, what would Gio's pick be? His top candidates would both come out of Madison Square Garden.

"You know who the most stable franchise is in New York? It's undisputed No. 1," Gio said. "It's the New York Rangers, and it's the Knicks."
