Could Tom Brady pull a Roger Clemens and come back to the NFL as someone’s savior mid-season?
Brady said on the Deep Cuts podcast this week that if the right situation presented itself, he might now be averse to returning to help one of a few teams down the stretch.
“I'm not opposed to it, but I don't know if they're gonna let me if I become an owner in the NFL,” Brady said. “But I'm always gonna be in good shape and able to throw the ball, so to come in for a little bit like MJ coming back, I wouldn't be opposed to it.”
Julio Franco sends his well-wishes as well, but though Al Dukes thinks he’s heard this before even if the guys doubt it.
“When he first left, he kept teasing; every time they would ask him be like, ‘oh, who knows?’” Al said.
“I'm talking about post-Bucs, because I always said I really felt like he was gonna come back again,” Jerry replied. “I felt like he shut it down a bunch of times, so maybe the first time around you're right, but this time though, I don't know.”
“Well, I remember he said the second time that ‘I swear, guys, I'm done, there's no doing this to you again,’” Gio shot back. “He already did it once he came back, so he swore the second time I'm not doing it again.”
And Boomer with the FACTS~!
“It's a podcast, a slow news day and he says something. He's gonna be in the booth for Fox this year, and he's trying to get a piece of the Raiders, so if all those things are coming together, it's very unlikely that he'll ever step on the football field again as a player,” Boomer said.
Unless Gio’s idea?
“So, Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas introducing Tom Brady...”
