Al chose Bruce Springsteen’s “Lucky Town” as the return from break song late in the 8 a.m. hour today, and that put Gio into Mad Dog mode…and gave us Moment of the Day as he reminisced about his early days in the newsroom, being the guy who would print out Springsteen setlists for Chris Russo.
“Are you a Springsteen fan? Oh great!” Gio Dog said. “He could have said anything, and I’d agree because I just wanted him to engage me. I felt like if I said no, he’d go to the next person. But then when I lied to him about it, he never asked me any questions to back it up.”
“He just wanted somebody to listen,” Jerry said.
We’re going to have to check the Boss’ setlists (or just ask Al) if this is true (to, y’know, catch Gio in a lie about being a Springsteen fan), but Greggy gave the world a Doggy rant on the Boss.
“Hamburg, Germany last night, print me out the set list! Ah, he opened up with ‘Downbound Train,’ he hasn’t done that since Switzerland in 1985! Jeez! Three encores last night in Geneva! Now he’s only done more than three encores…ffffour other times in his career, ttthree of those were in Tokyo!”
You really have to hear Gio’s impression of Dog, because it’s dead on – right down to the mannerisms, according to Jerry.
