Boomer & Gio's Moment of the Day 2/16/2021: Loose lips sink ships

Boomer & Gio were hoping for some constructive criticism on Boomer's looks, but instead battled radio silence in Tuesday's Moment of the Day.

After a caller told Boomer he looked bad on air, The Booms got Stephen Waldron of CBS Sports Network on the horn - and when he was asked about his take on Boomer's appearance, Waldron gave a short and concise, albeit favorable, response.

"I think Boomer looks good," Waldron said.

Gio continued to probe like a good reporter, wanting to know if Waldron had any pointers for Boomer to improve upon his look even more. Well, after a long silence, Waldron kept it blunt.

"I don't think so," Waldron said.

Gio described the moment as a 'hostage situation,' like Waldron was purposefully tight-lipped about Boomer's appearance. Al Dukes had some thoughts as to why.

"I think what happens over there is that the man in charge of the CBS Sports Network runs a tight ship over there," Al said. "Everyone is very tight lipped."

Who was Al talking about? That would be Tyler Hale, who apparently runs a tight enough ship at CBS Sports Network that it warrants a catchy nickname.

"Internally, that's known as the Hale Hammer," Boomer said.

Gio provided some background on the Hale Hammer, making it sound more powerful than the one Thor wields.

"He even does that socially," Gio said. "I hung out with him once at Fire Island and he was like 'You're eating this, you're drinking this, sitting down.'"
