Let's be fair: you never really lose your fandom when you work in sports media, but it definitely tones down a bit…and that's probably a good thing for Gregg Giannotti, who recalled his days as a super-stressed Mets fan in what ended up as Moment of the Day.
"I used to get so irrationally angry at Mets games, it was not healthy," Gio said. "You know what I used to get pissed at? This is a snapshot at how mentally unhealthy I was – if the Mets were losing and the Kiss Cam came on, I'd lose my mind."
Gio went off into an impression of himself yelling at the Kiss Cam, then calmed down and channeled his impression into former Mets PA announcer Alex Anthony.
"Alright Mets fans, pucker up, it's time for the 1-800-FLOWERS Kiss Cam," Gio said in the voice of Anthony, to which he replied as himself: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Of course, the replay led into a discussion of how the crowd goes wild for free T-shirts, so…just a reminder that Valentine's Day is coming up.
