On Monday, we found out that Sal Licata works in radio but doesn't listen to it much…and on Tuesday, the Moment of the Day found out that Sal isn't very savvy on the outside of his car, either.
Sal got a flat tire on the LIE on the way to the studio this morning, and considering that he was both okay and got to work (almost) on time, Jerry and the crew were able to have a little fun with the fact that the son of a mechanic can't perform one of the most basic car maintenance tasks – and had to involve his eight months pregnant wife to help him out because of it.
"I pull over, shaking nervous, and I'm panicking! I want to go dig my dad up, because I need help here!" Sal recalled. "My main focus isn't my car, it's getting to work now! How am I going to get there ASAP?"
Jerry, expert tire changer, offered to walk Sal through it…but no dice.
"The first thing I did was call my wife and tell her, and get her on the way, and I'm thinking at least I have a car," Sal said. "I'm concerned about my wife, of course, but I'm thinking if she comes, if I change the tire, I can take that car or whatever…but then I go to get the stuff out of the trunk, and I don't know how to use it!"
If only Sal & Jerry were in the Town Fair Tire studio and not Boomer & Gio's Built Ford Tough studio…
