Who is Ariel Jurado? Apparently, the Mets' starter on Tuesday night, as well as Wednesday's Moment of the Day when neither Gio nor C-Lo still had any idea who he was.
"When the guy on the mound is someone you just met three minutes ago, it's hard to keep your head in the game," Gio laughed.
"Remember yesterday when we were saying that the rotation for the next three days was all TBA? That's one of the guys Anthony DiComo listed," C-Lo replied, "and I knew nothing about him. I thought maybe he was a prospect in the system, come to find out they had just picked him up from the Rangers. Certainly not a well-regarded name."
Not a well-regarded start, either, as Jurado gave up five runs in four innings and admitted, through an interpreter, that he "wasn't able to recognize the strike zone."
"Maybe something was lost in translation? But not what you want from your starting pitcher," C-Lo laughed.
