Boomer & Gio, just swappin' old softball stories on a Football Friday.
The gang got talking about bone vs. soft tissue injuries, Boomer bringing up the time Al Dukes took the ol' rawhide off his shins – not a soft tissue injury, Eddie noted, by saying, "Al would have to have tissue on his legs for it to be."
"Mine was much more significant, getting down to the bone," Al chimed in.
And out came old man Gio, re-living the hamstring and quad injury that wrecked his promising celebrity softball career.
"I get flashbacks to that day, man, and I remember Bobby Bellini, the great Bobby Bellini, pulling me aside and saying, 'I know the feeling. When you get older, the muscles, they're the first things to go,'" Gregg said. "And I looked at him and I said, 'Bobby, you're like 20 years older than me!'"
Age ain't nothing but a number. A number, like, say, Grade 2 hamstring strain, Gio?
