Summer is over, unofficially, but we had a feel-good moment on Tuesday when Boomer & Gio recalled the story of Rickie Ricardo saving John Sterling from the floodwaters of Hurricane Ida…for a hot minute, anyway.
“Now I think this answers the question of whether or not they like John,” Boomer posited, to which Eddie replied: “Instead of just waiting for him to die?”
Jerry absolutely always believed, but then Gio had a morbid thought.
“What if Rickie’s like, ‘sorry John, been waiting for this for a long time!”
Jerry was upset at the guys’ take on the conversation, but Gio did note that in this business, anything is possible given that Rickie may someday be John’s replacement.
“Did Moose & Maggie ask him that?” Al quipped, and in came Gio as Moose:
“Uh, Rickie, did you ever, like, think about letting John drown and die so you could have that job? Like, that would’ve been really effed up, but I’d understand it. ‘Cause my wife Donna and I, right, we were talking about it…”

That was the end of the Moment, but Jerry and Eddie had one last fun moment when, instead of Jerry reading the post-MOTD sponsor billboard, we got another listen of Peter Schwartz’s interesting pronunciation of the spirit the sponsor purveys!
