With Mark Chernoff finishing his last day as WFAN program director on Wednesday, and Spike Eskin not due to take over until next Tuesday, who is calling the shots at the station in the meantime, and how much pull will they have?
The answer is interim program director David Mayurnik, who was the focal point of Thursday's Moment of the Day.
The Morning Show crew was debating when John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman would finally be able to travel to broadcast Yankees road games on WFAN, and how it needs to happen soon with things returning to normal across the country.
"I'm with them," Boomer said. "If I could travel with the team, I would want to travel with the team. I would want to be in person. I would want to do games there, not off the monitor."
"Is that gonna be happening soon?" Eddie Scozzare replied.
"I don't know, tough guy," Boomer said. "I have no idea. Maybe ask David Mayurnik."
Does the interim program director have that kind of pull?
"I think he's gonna be allowed to make himself some coffee today, that's about it," Eddie said.
Cheap shot from Eddie to the current programming director, who could be waking up to a surprise in his first day in the role.
"He's probably still in bed sleeping right now, and he's gonna wake up to like 100 texts," Boomer said. "'They're talking about you and they're slamming you.'"
