Patrick Marleau made history last night, as the Sharks veteran officially became the NHL's all-time leader in games played.
However, as Jerry Recco proved by playing the audio, the radio announcer on the call didn't quite give the moment the fanfare it deserved – and that reminded Gio of some old-timey goodness, and he dipped back into his Wayne Randazzo/A League of their Own announcer impression (with the same swing music) to bring it back to the late-1940s for his own call.
"And he waves to President Roosevelt in the front row, and throws him a puck!" Gio said in his old-timey voice. "Marleau has the record, The Great Depression is over, and the boys are back home!"
