Boomer's theory on why so many NFL games have been brutal watches this season

After the Yankees and Guardians were rained out, attention of the sports world turned to the rest of primetime football's latest slog, a 19-16 overtime win for the Chargers in a Monday Night Football matchup that would have been seen as a hyped quarterback battle before the season.

But Russell Wilson and Justin Herbert struggled to generate much excitement, continuing a trend of sloppy football and poor quarterback play by many across the league, including established stars at the position like Wilson and Tom Brady, while Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' offense has struggled as well.

"Some of these games happen with good quarterbacks and experienced quarterbacks at the helm," Gio said. "The Thursday night games have been an atrocity…is there a reason why this year, we are seeing more bad football? Even Tom Brady himself said it."

Boomer offered his best guess as to why we're seeing such poor displays of football through the first six weeks of the season, offering hope that it may begin to improve.

"I felt like September was just an extended preseason, because nobody played in preseason games," Boomer said. "So I felt like it took a while, especially with a third of the league having new coaches...there are 10 new head coaches, there were a lot of quarterbacks moving around, and they just don't play in preseason games."
