As the Super Bowl approaches, Boomer predicts the NFL schedule, including the Big Game, will look a lot different in the years to come.

“It’s more likely they’ll move it to President’s [Day] weekend,” Boomer said of the future of the Super Bowl. “When they go to 18 games and they want to get all these holiday games in, and the ratings keep proving NFL is king. You could see them moving the Super Bowl to President’s weekend.

“I believe, no matter what the NFLPA says, I still believe they’re gonna try to go to 18 games.”

So, if Boomer’s prediction is right, the regular season will eventually once again be extended by one game, the preseason will be decreased by one game, and many would have the day after the Super Bowl off from work and school.

“That’s what I think is gonna happen…they have to grow the pie,” Boomer said. “That’s what they always have to do. I know the NFLPA is gonna have a lot of pushback on that. I think they would expand the rosters, which is gonna be very important, especially for offensive and defensive linemen and running backs…if I had to predict it, that’s what I would think. Drop the preseason to two games, and the first six games of the season are our preseason. Everybody sucks, nobody knows what they’re doing, guys are getting hurt, and after the first six games of the season, we can figure out who the good teams are.”
