Boomer predicts NFL will have a full division of teams in Europe by 2028 or 2029

Boomer made a notable, and very intriguing, prediction during Friday morning’s show, one that would bring about massive changes to the NFL if it were to become a reality.

As the Dolphins announced that they would be hosting a game in Madrid next season, Boomer says there will be NFL teams overseas sooner rather than later.

“I’m gonna tell you right now, by 2029 - maybe 2028 - there will be an NFL division in Europe,” Boomer said. “There are gonna be four teams over there. There’s gonna be an NFL division over there. Total expansion.

“There are so many billionaires out there right now who want a piece of this. It’s gonna happen. And then they will go to an 18-game schedule.”

That would of course drastically change the landscape of the league, with another game, a lot more travel, and a new continent to follow on a weekly basis. The league already plays several games overseas each season, but this would mean Sunday morning games every week as the league continues to spread in terms of when they play, and now, potentially, where they play.

Gio hates the idea, as he believes it would only enhance the diluting of the league, but Boomer likes the idea.

“How many worldwide soccer teams are there? It’s a sport and it has a worldwide presence,” Boomer said. “Why can’t football?

“It will be interesting to see if they do two teams in London, or maybe one in London, one in Frankfurt, and one in Madrid. I’m just telling you, they’re getting ready to expand...it’s gonna happen.”
