Sal Licata ripped the NBA’s new in-season tournament that will be introduced in the upcoming season, and his soon-to-be co-host is in full agreement.

Simply put, BT hates the league’s new idea to try and curtail load management and give fans a reason to tune in during an 82-game season that can sometimes feel monotonous.

“What else can we do? Oh yes, let’s make something up and shove it down our throats,” BT said. “Why can’t these network idiots just understand that we’re good? The greed, it’s really sickening. The greed, it’s permeated every single walk of life. It’s just hard to enjoy anything…it’s tiresome.”

In reading the bullet points of the new idea, from pool play during regular season games to a final four in Las Vegas, BT was already lost, and trying to figure out what exactly this tournament will accomplish, other than more money, and more motivation for the players to claim a $500,000 cash prize for winning the tournament.

“I already don’t understand what I’ve read. It’s too convoluted,” BT said. “Why are there so many bullet points there? There’s two reasons why they’re doing this. To make money, and number two and number three, also to make money…but the only thing that could be OK with this is that could dissuade players from maintenance days. I don’t know if this in-season tournament is going to be enough of a draw to impact maintenance days.

“It’s too gimmicky. It’s too tripped up. I’ll be watching the Big East, a lot of football, and a little bit of hockey. That’s what I’ll be watching.”
