BT already declaring season over for Yankees, Mets: 'They're not good enough'

BT began Friday's show with an important, but painful announcement.

Sure, we're still weeks away from Memorial Day, but the baseball season is over in New York.

"I would like to alert everybody, and I take no pleasure doing this, that on Friday, May 12, neither New York team is a playoff team. I'm also here to tell you that it's only gonna get worse," BT said. "When the Yankees and Mets wrap up the 27th out of game number 162, they will not be getting ready for game 163, because neither team is good enough. The season is over."

After the Mets were shut out for the seventh time this season, this time by the lowly Reds, while the Yankees were shut down by the juggernaut Rays, keeping them in last place in the stacked AL East, it was enough for BT to declare the final four and a half months of the season a waste. Because both local teams are doomed for a playoff-less season already.

"The Mets can't beat the bad teams, the Yankees can't beat the good teams," BT said. "The starting pitching is in shambles, there's injuries everywhere, the stars aren't performing, and neither manager seems incredibly concerned about the state of affairs."
