BT and Sal watched the scene at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night, and couldn't help but feel that the atmosphere in Philadelphia is on another level to what the New York fans create when their teams are playing October baseball.
"That place was different last night," BT said. "We could sit here in our New York bubble and take the craziest New York moment. Does it look like that? Let's just be honest with ourselves. I don't think it does.
"I was a little jealous. That explosion, in unison, that was awesome. That place is on fire."
Sal couldn't agree more, especially after going to the Mets Wild Card Series in 2022, in what was their first trip back to the postseason in six years.
"I was at the Mets postseason games last year. It was embarrassing compared to what was going on in Philadelphia," Sal said. "That's on the fans. "I went to those playoff games last year, and it was like a morgue at Citi Field before those games even got underway. It's embarrassing. Mets fans hate this guy, hate that guy, the players don't like the fans getting on them, Yankee fans are booing Aaron Judge after a historic regular season. Meanwhile, you got Bryce Harper and the Philly fans loving each other, and Trea Turner. I want that! We should be having that in New York."
BT took in the Yankees playoffs last season in person, and his experience wasn't much better during game three of the ALCS.
"Your experience at Citi Field was not much different from my experience in the Bronx," BT said. "I was there in '96 when the Yankees clinched…and here I am, the Yankees got shut out, and I'm like, 'I think I'm at a spring training game.' It was so benign, it was embarrassing."
