BT would take winless season over Lions' painful ending

After watching the Lions cough up a 17-point lead to the 49ers in Sunday’s NFC title game, BT is convinced that nobody has it worse than the fans in Detroit, who packed Ford Field to watch their team collapse on the big screen.

“It’s indisputable. They are the most tortured fanbase in the world. They haven’t won since 1957,” BT said. “If that would have happened to me last night, I would not recover. I would be dead inside. I would not regenerate. I don’t know a more painful moment, ever, for any sports fanbase than last night.”

BT says he would rather endure a winless season than the one the Lions just had, and to be given so much hope of finally ending years of misery, only to return to that same misery on the biggest stage.

“I think [Aaron] Rodgers going down spared us all a lot of pain,” BT said.

“It’s also the way they lost…when you factor in their overall existence, and then the circumstances of the game. Not once, but twice. Dropped passes, wide open first downs, coaching decisions. That would break my soul. I would never be the same sports fan.”
