As the Astros prepare to play for another pennant on Monday night, and secure their fifth trip to the World Series since 2017, C-Mac says Houston will officially be labeled a dynasty if they win the title this year.
"I think you need to defend a championship to be a dynasty," C-Mac said. "I've always felt that way. You have to win back to back years to be a dynasty.
"They need this one to be a dynasty, in my opinion. Unfortunately, I think they're gonna get it. I really do."
Still, while it will be a dynasty, C-Mac says it will be tainted, and doesn't entertain the idea that the Yankees' last dynasty is tainted as well.
"It was the steroid era. Every team was on steroids," C-Mac said. "If you're gonna tell me everyone was cheating like the Astros, they weren't. Was everybody stealing signs on some level? Yes. But they had a monitor set up in the hallway and were banging drums. This was not the same thing. This is cheating at a completely different level. This is not the same thing as a couple guys on the late 90s Yankees using steroids.
"It's not like I'm not calling them a dynasty because of it…this has nothing to do with the 2017 cheating scandal."
