C-Mac can’t believe the amount of hate that is geared towards broadcasters during NFL games, simply because he doesn’t believe that they are responsible for how much he enjoys watching a game.
So, while Tony Romo was called out on social media during Sunday’s AFC title game for his performance in the booth, C-Mac was enjoying a close game too much to notice any of Romo’s broadcasting shortcomings, or any other broadcaster that has been under fire this season.
“We critique everything,” C-Mac said. “It’s unbelievable.
“Al Michaels, no energy…I have friends that absolutely despise Joe Buck, no matter what he’s doing. I just don’t care about the broadcast that much. It seems to impact so many people’s viewing pleasure of the game, or get hung up on it or get mad at it.”
C-Mac agrees that Romo seemed to be more in tune with NFL schemes and play calling earlier in his broadcasting career, when he was still fresh out of NFL meeting rooms as a player, but nothing he does or says now has much to do with how C-Mac enjoys a game.
“Does he deserve to be paid $17 million? Absolutely not…but people get so annoyed,” C-Mac said. “Every time I look, someone else is complaining about the broadcast.
“I don’t think it enhances my enjoyment or ruins the game for me…I never feel that way, and we’re so hung up on it.”
