C-Mac not a fan of 'premeditated' Rangers/Devils line brawl: 'What did it accomplish?'
C-Mac understands and appreciates the role fighting plays in hockey, but after watching the Rangers and Devils' all-out line brawl at the opening faceoff on Wednesday night, he can't get behind that level of collectively dropping the gloves.
"The premeditated part of this….the idea that they thought it was more important to start that fight than start the game," C-Mac said. "Things happen in the moment, a star gets hit, fine, you have to defend your teammate…but this was a premeditated thing, like 'we're starting this fight because the fight is more important than the game.'
"And what did it accomplish? The game started and it didn't matter…what did it really accomplish in the moment?"
