C-Mac: NCAA selection committee 'got what it deserved' with Virginia getting blown out

Virginia, one of the teams to controversially earn a March Madness bid ahead of the likes of St. John’s and Seton Hall, were obliterated in an embarrassing 67-42 loss in Tuesday night’s Play-In action.

For C-Mac, the drubbing at the hands of the Rams was all the confirmation local college basketball fans needed to know that their teams got screwed.

“The NCAA selection committee got exactly what it deserved,” C-Mac said. “The poster boy of the screw job, the team everyone pointed to, was this Virginia team…after all of our bitching and complaining, I thought for sure Virginia would come out and win a couple games…but the fact of the matter is, no, we were all right. That team is awful.”

The Cavaliers looked lost on the offensive end, just as many surmised would happen after it was revealed that Virginia earned an ACC bid. It doesn’t change the outcome of the Red Storm and Pirates not making it to the big dance, but in C-Mac’s opinion, it does serve as validation that at least one of those two local teams should have been selected instead of Virginia.

“This game was just disgusting,” C-Mac said. “For all the college basketball fans here in the tristate, for all the St. John’s fans, Seton Hall fans, for all of them who knew it was an outright travesty that their team was watching from home so Virginia could play in this game, it was well deserved to watch this slop of offensive basketball.”
