After both teams combined for just one run on Monday night, C-Mac sounded off on the state of the Yankees and Mets lineups after both ruined strong pitching performances with losses in their respective series openers.
“Ultimately, these offenses stink,” C-Mac said. “If Jeff McNeil doesn’t hit .315-.330, he has no use…and Wendle, if he doesn’t play solid defense, or isn’t someone you can trust to put in late defensively…and Lindor, 0-for-4 again, back below .200.
“This team has too many good hitters, and it has gone on too long now to have this much inconsistency...it starts with Lindor and Alonso.”
As for the Yankees, there have been troubling signs of familiarity, as displayed by scoring 15 runs in back to back games before being blanked in Baltimore one night later.
“This offense has just been feast or famine,” C-Mac said. “All they have to do is score three runs and they’re the best team in baseball…it’s unacceptable from the rest of this lineup, and it falls mainly at Aaron Judge’s feet.”
