If you follow Alison Kay Bowles on Instagram, you may already know about what is a now somewhat-infamous “turkey leg” photo she took in Thailand back in 2019:
Thank several Instagram users for pointing that out, and as she told Carton & Roberts when she joined them for WAG Wednesday…she gets it.
“I was in Thailand watching my friend compete for Miss Universe, and I wanted to do one of those aesthetic travel blogger poses. So I went in the bathtub in Chiangmai and thought I’d take a good photo, and people kept asking when I posted it why I took a picture of a turkey leg,” she laughed. “One of my friends then asked the same thing, and I was like wait, what? The way my head was on the bath and the way my leg was, it really does look like a turkey leg! So now every time I post a pic like that, people comment it’s so much better!”
As it turns out, the future Mrs. Adeiny Hechavarria isn’t a turkey leg, but she does share some lower-body traits with a different
“I actually do have a webbed toe!” she said, before revealing the first time her fiancé found out: “The first time I met his family in Miami, he was still trying to impress me, so he took me out on a jet ski. He was going really fast and I was scared so I was gripping onto the jet ski with my toes. He turns around and says, “What the f is that?” and looked at me, and I said, “I thought I told you I had a webbed toe?” Sometimes I forget about it, but could not get over it. He was holding my foot like, “oh my God!” As soon as we got home he showed his whole family!”

That apparently never stopped her in her past as a swimsuit model and pageant contestant, having competed in Miss Teen Missouri and both Miss Florida and Miss Oregon pageants in an attempt to become Miss USA.
That time in her life is likely over now, she told Craig & Evan, but when Craig asked if Miss USA has taken out the swimsuit competition the way Miss America has, Bowles revealed she’s glad they have not.
“I may be done with pageants, but Miss USA still has the swimsuit competition, and I probably wouldn’t participate in a pageant without it,” she said. “It’s more about who you are and what you want to do with your voice, beauty inside and out, but if you take out swimsuit, what does that say about a woman, that she can’t be sexy and smart at the same time?”
