The popular artificial intelligence program, ChatGPT, was tasked with ranking the top 10 New York athletes of the millennium, and the chat bot produced a widespread list that contained representatives from eight different teams.
The only New York teams with multiple entries on the list were the Yankees and Giants, while the Jets and Islanders did not have any selections.
Derek Jeter took the top spot, having won two titles from 2000 through the end of his career, including a World Series MVP award in 2000. Eli Manning and his two Super Bowls came in second, with Martin Brodeur and his two Stanley Cups coming in third.
Fellow goaltender Henrik Lundqvist came in fourth, followed by a pair of star third basemen in Alex Rodriguez and David Wright, respectively.
Seventh and eighth were occupied by the only two basketball entries on the list in the recently retired Carmelo Anthony and Nets star Jason Kidd. Josh Allen of the Bills and Odell Beckham Jr. rounded out the list.
Mariano Rivera and Michael Strahan seemed like two of the top snubs from the bot's list, while Darrelle Revis and Aaron Judge certainly had a case to be a part of it. One of those three likely would have been had the AI program knew to specify New York City teams, which would have taken Allen out of the running.
