Classic Mike & The Mad Dog: Johnny Vander Meer on throwing consecutive no-hitters

Baltimore's John Means threw a no-hitter in his last start, and if he does it again on Tuesday night in Queens, he will join select company as just the second pitcher ever to throw no-nos in two straight outings.

The first was Johnny Vander Meer, who did so with the Cincinnati Reds in 1938, and in this interview from the WFAN archives, 81-year old Johnny Vander Meer joined Mike & The Mad Dog on May 21, 1996, almost 25 years ago to the day Means could tie his record. Check it out!
