Jack Hughes makes Devils history again, with more potentially on the way

The Devils were unable to continue their six-game home winning streak on Tuesday night, falling to the Canadiens at The Rock, but Jack Hughes continued his historic season in the losing effort.

The New Jersey All-Star logged an assist on Jesper Bratt's goal to tie the game in the first period, and in doing so, became the fastest player in Devils history to log 70 points in a season, according to NHL PR.

Hughes dished out another assist later in the game, and now has 71 points in 53 games, while still leading the league with 29 even strength goals.

Showing no signs of slowing down since returning from an upper body injury, the 21-year-old could become the first player in franchise history to finish with 100 points in a season if he continues on his current trajectory.
