Evan & Tiki: Is the NFL colluding against running backs?

On Monday afternoon, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter fired off a series of posts on X (formerly known as Twitter) reporting that several high-profile running backs, including Saquon Barkley weren't expected to be tagged by their respective teams.

Evan found the series of posts odd, and went as far as to say that it felt like "collusion" from NFL owners to bring down the price on players at a position that has already been devalued across the league.

"It will bring the market down. It's supply and demand," Evan said. "If you got all these really good running backs out there that would just flood the marketplace, it would bring the market down.

"It kind of feels like collusion."

Tiki wouldn't go that far just yet, but he did agree that it was odd to have so many top-tier running backs reportedly hitting free agency, and all being reported on at the same time.

"It's almost like the NFL collectively has said - I'm not saying collusion - but collectively said, 'there are a bunch of running backs in college. Let's just let these other guys float,'" Tiki said.

"You'd have to have proof that they got together and said, 'We're not paying running backs,' but it's never gonna be found on an email chain or a text chain."
