The Evan and Tiki show began with a trial, and it wasn't the Nets being put on trial after another gut-wrenching loss.
It was Tiki on trial, with Evan prosecuting.
"You committed a crime…last night at the Barclays Center," Evan said. "We had a damn good time. I even had a Modelo Cherry because Tiki wanted a Modelo Cherry, and I joined in…we all had a great time despite some of the crappy basketball we watched in certain moments.
"With 3:50 to go, the Nets blew their nine-point lead…During that timeout, as I was getting tense, Tiki Barber, with that trademark smile, looks at me and says 'I'm out,' and sticks his fist out to fist bump me."
Evan was stunned, and he wasn't over it by Wednesday afternoon, as Tiki ducked out in the middle of a tight game between two New York teams.
"My response was, 'Are you bleeping kidding me?'" Evan said. "He said 'No, I don't like crowds.'"
Tiki's defense? He told his wife that they would get caught up on season four of True Detective together, which wasn't a sufficient enough explanation for Evan's disgust to dissipate.
"It literally happened!" Evan said. "With 3:58 to go in a one-point game between the Knicks and Nets!"
