Evan: Give me Pete Alonso for a full season over Aaron Judge's average games played

Aaron Judge is back in the Yankee lineup for Wednesday's spring training action, calming concerns about his Opening Day availability as he battled an abs issue that he credited to overworking in the winter.

Evan says it is clear Judge is injury prone, and while he is clearly the better player than a Pete Alonso, he would rather have a lower caliber star that he knows will be in the lineup each night than a wild card in Judge.

"Aaron Judge is better than Pete Alonso, but Pete Alonso is more reliable than Aaron Judge," Evan said. "I know Pete Alonso is gonna play 160 games.

"I love guys that play every day, because they are reliable and you know what they're gonna give you, while with Aaron Judge, you have no idea if he's gonna play this week…He is completely unreliable, rarely plays full seasons…on average, Aaron Judge will play 123 games per season. You needed somebody who can be reliable, who will be out there all the time. Pete Alonso is out there all the time. He's not as good - I would be foolish to say he is - but he's more reliable."

Asked by Morash if he would rather have Judge for his average of 123 games per season or Alonso for a full season, Evan didn't hesitate.

"I'd rather have Pete Alonso for 157 [games]," Evan said.
