Evan: 'The dispute is over,' Jalen Brunson has taken 'King of New York' label from Aaron Judge

Nearly one year ago, Evan Roberts broached the subject about the current king of New York sports, wondering if Jalen Brunson had taken that label away from Aaron Judge.

After Brunson went off for 17 points in the fourth quarter, shortly after gathering his team in a huddle to fire his guys up, Evan became convinced that the Knicks captain has now surpassed the Yankee captain for the crown of Gotham.

"You can't argue about it anymore," Tiki said. "Jalen Brunson had another kingly performance. As I was watching it...he has this city in the palm of his hands.

"A year has gone by. Let's be fair about what has gone on in that year. Aaron Judge won an MVP, he was amazing. He then proceeded to drop a fly ball in the World Series. Jalen Brunson continued the Knicks vibes...and unfortunately, he got hurt at the very end, as did everybody else. He came back...and the Knicks have one of the best records in the league."

Brunson has not reached an NBA Finals, or even an Eastern Conference Final, with the Knicks, but Evan says Judge was "carried" to a pennant after having another underwhelming October performance, while Brunson was masterful in the playoffs before injuries became too much for the Knicks to endure. Now healthy again, Brunson is a starter in the All-Star Game while willing his team to wins like the one on Monday night, when he dropped 42 points and dished out 10 assists to get New York a big win while missing OG Anunoby.

"Are you now ready to bend the knee and accept that this city is under new management, and the king is Jalen Brunson?" Evan said.

"It's Jalen on every vibe, on every level."
