Joe Benigno went out 3-0, but Evan Roberts technically won the Joe & Evan NFL picks race, going 15-12 to Joe’s 12-15 before our best bro’s retirement last week.
It’s now Carton & Roberts in the afternoon, and as Craig has deferred from discussing NFL picks, we’re switching to a new format: Evan is choosing one favorite, one underdog, and one over/under for the coming Sunday, and we’ll see how he does.
And since it’s the debut…we get a bonus NFL pick from producer Tommy “Definitely Not Thor” Lugauer and Chris “Also Not McGonigle” McMonigle!
First up, Evan’s Picks:
Favorite: Tampa Bay (-5.5) at Carolina – “When a good team loses, I fully expect them to vounce back in a big way, and that’s set up right now for the Buccaneers. The weapons Tom Brady has, he’ll eventually get more comfortable with them, and I expect them to bounce back here.”
Underdog: Houston (+3.5) at Cleveland – “Here’s the thing about the Texans: they’re not that bad. The Browns are a very difficult team to trust, and that hook is big. Gimme the Texans as the dog of the week.”
Over/Under: U 47.5 Houston at Cleveland – “It’s supposed to be very windy in the Mistake by the Lake.”
And now, bonus picks from Loogy and C-Mac!
Chris McMonigle: Giants (+3.5) vs. Eagles - “Now that I know I can save Thanksgiving, I’m gonna do it! I think you can make the case they’ve been the best team in the NFC East lately, because they can run the ball and Daniel Jones doesn’t make mistakes. This game is within a field goal and I’m getting 3 ½."
Tommy Lugauer: Packers (-13.5) vs. Jaguars - “The Jags covered against the Texans, but this isn’t the Texans. This is Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and Aaron Jones. Green Bay has been smoking teams, and the Jags secondary stinks! They couldn’t cover you, me, and the Twitter baseball team! I know it’s a big number, but I’m laying the 13 ½!”
