As the MLB season gets underway Wednesday morning with the Dodgers and Padres playing in the Seoul Series, Evan says the league dropped the ball in hyping up its start to the season.
"If I didn't bring it up, most people would be like, 'really?'" Evan said. "It's not being brought up or promoted anywhere. It's 6:00 in the morning on the east coast, which means on the west coast, where these two teams play it starts at 3:00 in the morning.
"They have made Opening Day not matter."
Contrarily, Evan says if the NFL were to play a season opener overseas to where the game was played at the crack of dawn back in the US, everyone would know about it, and everyone would be watching.
He's convinced nobody except die-hard baseball fans set their alarms for Wednesday morning.
"If they were told '4:00 a.m. game,' they would do it, you would watch, and we would watch," Evan said. "But MLB is not the NFL, and they need to understand that."
