Evan believes the Jets/Giants rivalry is currently near the top of the list of best rivalries among New York sports teams, but there is one key factor missing.
Each team needs to have its own stadium.
"This rivalry that has developed between the jets and Giants, and really the Jets and Giants fans…it's missing something. It's missing us having our own stadiums," Evan said. "One of the things that's so awesome about Yankees/Mets, Rangers/Islanders, Rangers/Devils, or Nets/Knicks, is beating you in your own building."
Evan would happily volunteer the Jets to be the one to leave MetLife Stadium, and has a couple areas in mind where they could move to, but now that the teams have a new facility built, he admits that dream likely will never come true.
"I hate that stadium," Evan said. "If you told me tomorrow the Jets were leaving that Stadium, I'd be so pumped. Get me the hell out of there.
"Queens. I'd be good with Long Island. But that's why it'll never happen. As soon as they built that facility in Florham Park."
