Keith: Fans are 'bugging' if they expect Jets win or Giants to compete with 49ers

Keith McPherson is trying to figure out why Jets and Giants fans have so much faith in getting a win in Week 3.

For Gang Green, the 0-2 Patriots await, a team they haven't been able to beat in their last 14 tries, and Keith doesn't think New England's record should suggest that the Jets are lined up for a bounceback win.

"I don't think this matchup bodes well for the Jets in any way," Keith said. "[The Patriots] lost by five points in Week 1, and lost by a touchdown in Week 2, but they were in both of these games.

"Mac Jones, with Bill O'Brien, I think he's better suited to get wins…in Week 1, he was 35-54 for 316 yards, three touchdowns, and one pick against the Eagles defense.  I don't see it. we're talking about this Jets defense like they didn't take a nosedive last year, like they didn't lose all six games to end last season. Like the defense is absolved because it was a mixture of Zach Wilson, Mike White, and Chris Streveler. No, they gave up the points."

As for the Giants, especially with Saquon Barkley likely not playing, a win in San Francisco on a short week seems like an incredibly tall order.

"There's a lot of selling of these teams right now, the Jets and the Giants. I need someone to convince me, because I'm not buying it," Keith said. "The 49ers are watching that film laughing…these guys will run you over, will stiff-arm you, and this is the first time these guys will get to play in their own stadium this year.

"You're bugging out if you think, without Saquon, the Giants are gonna just waltz in there and compete and potentially get a win."
