The Jets and Giants are getting set to face off in their preseason finales on Sunday afternoon, but Gio says there's one problem.
There's no buzz about football in New York right now.
"Ever since the Zach Wilson injury in the first preseason game, I feel like there has been a lack of juice locally with these two football teams," Gio said. "Nothing about what's going on with either one of them right now in the preseason is interesting."
Gio tried to ponder some storylines that could be exciting heading into the new season for either team, but aside from a couple young receivers, came up empty.
"What are the realistic exciting storylines that are possible for both of these teams this year?" Gio said. "I'll throw a couple out for you. Kadarius Toney has an exciting, productive, fun season, you want to see the ball in his hands. Garrett Wilson is a rookie wide receiver who steps onto the field and is one of those guys who catches everyone's attention.
"Zach Wilson? Can we say that's an exciting storyline? Is it hope more than anything else?"
Maybe the city is in full baseball mode, and the buzz will grow after October if either team is surpassing expectations by then.
