Report: Adoree' Jackson suffered ankle sprain at Giants practice with 'significant swelling'

Giants cornerback Adoree Jackson was carted off the field during joint practice with the Patriots on Wednesday, and according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Jackson suffered a sprained ankle.

Per Rapoport, Jackson is dealing with “significant swelling” and will undergo tests to determine the severity of the sprain. A grade one sprain could be a day-to-day situation, but a grade two could take weeks to over a month, which would put his status for Week 1 in jeopardy.

Jackson reportedly suffered the injury during team drills, and made his way to a cart to take him off the field.

New York, already struggling with depth in its secondary, signed Jackson to a three-year, $39 million deal this past offseason, but Jackson came to the Giants with injury history, playing in just three games last year after missing five games in 2019.
