C-Mac: Bad game against Saints could bring a quick end to Tommy DeVito fairy tale

C-Mac has been trying to temper the expectations of Giants fans throughout the Tommy DeVito run, and urged that those fans would benefit from simply enjoying the ride without getting ahead of themselves in regards to what the undrafted rookie could become.

With the Saints on deck, C-Mac wonders if the DeVito story could come to a crashing halt come Sunday.

“We all enjoyed the story. It’s fun,” C-Mac said. “And I’m not trying to downplay it...but I think a bad game in New Orleans probably puts an end to this whole thing.

“He has not shown he can be the future of this team. It’s crazy to think so. It’s been one good game. He has won three in a row, yes, but it’s been one good game. So let’s see more of it.”

Now, what if DeVito has a repeat performance of Monday night against the Packers, and goes into New Orleans and takes down the Saints? Then, it might be time to start wondering how far DeVito could ride this wave.

“I think this is a tough spot for him. I’ll be impressed,” C-Mac said. “I know the Saints aren’t very good, but this is a tough spot in a tough building.”
