Sal: Belief in Brian Daboll is gone if Giants lose to Commanders

When the Giants take the field against the Commanders on Sunday, Sal says belief in their head coach will be on the line.

“This will be an enormous weekend for not only the Giants as far as this season goes, but more importantly, the future of the head coach,” Sal said. “This has been an embarrassment after a divisional round appearance last year. I don’t see how there’s any way possible, that if the Giants lose this game at home to the Commanders on Sunday, how we cannot start to question Brian Daboll, and maybe start putting him in the same conversation with Pat Shurmur and Joe Judge.”

Sal still has faith in Daboll being the right man for the job, but if Big Blue falls to 1-6 with a loss to Washington, that faith will be gone.

“I believe in Daboll. You know that,” Sal said. “But if you can’t beat Washington at home, you’re looking at two wins max the rest of the way. I don’t care about the circumstances with the roster, who is injured…to do what they did a year ago because of Daboll, there is no way you should have the drop-off from that to where it could potentially be if they lose this game to Washington on Sunday.

“If they don’t [win], that belief is gone.”
