Daniel Jones was sacked 11 times on Monday night, threw two interceptions, including a pick-six in the red zone, and couldn’t lead the Giants to a single touchdown in a 24-3 loss to the Seahawks.
Simply put, it was the worst of Jones, reminiscent of his early years in the league when many questioned how much longer he would be the Giants quarterback.
“This was a total regression by Daniel Jones,” Gio said. “This compared to everything we saw early on in his career. This was the quintessential bad Daniel Jones game.”
A caller suggested that it was only due to the dreadful play of the offensive line, but neither Boomer nor Gio were having it.
“On the interception, there was no pressure,” Boomer said, noting the costly pick six. “That’s the problem.”
“Joe Burrow, that year they went to the Super Bowl, it was statistically the worst offensive line to go to a Super Bowl,” Gio added. “Stop with it being the only excuse for Daniel Jones and the offense.
“You think when Brian Daboll went to Daniel Jones with the tablet, he said ‘Oh, someone missed a block here.’ No, he said ‘You missed the read, dummy.’”
