Daniel Jones and the Giants lost to the Panthers, arguably the worst team in football, dropping the season to a new low as Big Blue is now 2-8 on the season.
Against the worst defense in football by many statistics, Jones looked lost, missing open receivers on multiple occasions and finishing 22-for-37 with 190 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions. It has been a flat-out bad season for Jones, and Boomer says Jones looks like a quarterback who is mentally broken.
“They have a quarterback who is completely hamstrung mentally,” Boomer said. “It’s paralysis by analysis by Daniel Jones.
“They left probably nine to 20 points on the field by colossal, boneheaded mistakes and missed opportunities.”
Brian Daboll and the Giants will “evaluate” the quarterback position heading into their next game, as the noise grows louder for Big Blue to bench Jones. But Daboll pointed to “bad coaching” when asked about Jones and the offensive struggles, though Boomer says the failures on Sunday fall at the feet of the quarterback.
“You can only draw up so many plays,” Boomer said. “The plays are gonna be there, and the quarterback either pulls the trigger…or he doesn’t see it and he’s basically afraid to get himself involved and takes a sack. It’s frustrating to watch.
“I don’t want to hear about offensive line and running back problems. It really comes down to ‘Does the quarterback have the balls to stand in there and make the plays?’”
