Boomer seemed to be dropping bread crumbs during Tuesday’s show about Bill Belichick and the Giants, after Pat Leonard of the Daily News was the latest to publish an article with scathing assessments from anonymous sources of Brian Daboll and his fiery nature.
“This is all coming at a weird time,” Boomer said. “Bill Belichick is out there interviewing with the Falcons. He wants to coach. He loves the Giants.”
Gio shot the idea down instantly, not believing that the Giants would move on from Daboll or Joe Schoen after just two seasons, but Boomer is simply just raising the possibility, given Belichick’s obvious adoration for the Giants organization.
“Who knows? I’m wondering aloud. Can I do that?” Boomer said. “I’m just having a conversation.
“How does John Mara think about this, especially with Bill Belichick being available? Is this all of a sudden, ‘I gotta get Bill Belichick in here to calm things down’? You never know how the owner will react."
