The Giants are now 1-4 after another lopsided loss, and could very well be 1-5 in a week unless they somehow solve the Bills in Week 6.
Boomer couldn’t sugarcoat the state of Big Blue on Monday morning, as the good vibes from last year’s playoff run continue to fade.
“This team is an unmitigated disaster,” Boomer said. “They had +3 on the turnover side, scored a defensive touchdown, and still got blown out. Defensively, offensively, atrocious across the board.
“I really don’t know where they go from here…this is a team that looks leaderless to me. They’re just not very good.”
Boomer wonders if, in some way, the playoff run last season hurt this year’s group, as it led the team to sign Daniel Jones to a big contract, and the quarterback has not look the part so far this season, though the protection in front of him has been disastrous.
“That playoff run last year, while it was great and it was fun, it basically hid whatever kind of problems the Giants were having, and then forced them to spend money on players that they probably wouldn’t have done had they not made the playoffs,” Boomer said. “I don’t know where they go from here.”
