The Giants came up one play short of taking down the Bills in what would have been one of the biggest upsets of the NFL season, but a pass from the 1-yard line sailed over the hands of Darren Waller in the end zone, sealing a 14-9 victory for Buffalo.
Frustration for Giants fans only grew as they watched the replay of the final play, which showed Buffalo cornerback Taron Johnson grabbing and holding Waller’s jersey as he tried to go up for the catch.
No flags were thrown, but Boomer believed there should have been.
“There’s pass interference again,” Boomer said. “There is holding, there is pass interference there, and it’s not called. He’s grabbing him.
“Everybody knows, when you grab the jersey, it’s gonna get called…all I’m saying is, I thought it was pass interference.”
Gio agreed, and believed it was an unfortunate end for the Giants after the defense kept the team in the game all night, but came up one yard short of an improbable win.
“The Giants deserved better,” Gio said. “They should have won that game.”
